CVT - Possible to dissamble a centrifugal weight carrier?

Greetings to all.

Currently I am working on a spare cvt for my 340-1400.
One of the springs preventing the weight to touch the central axis is broken.
Thus it could make tapping noises at no- to low speeds (before the centrifugal force takes over)

That in mind I folded a new spring, took of the circlips and started pressing the pin out.
At least I thought ..............
My courage left me as the pressing force reached over 500 kgs - and nothing moved.

I have the strong impression the thing is heated before the pin is pressed in and therefore impossible to remove afterwards without risking to break the cast iron.

Anyone ever managed to press them out ??????????????

For now I unfolded the last winding of the original spring,
well, it's A solution grin - but not THE, so experiences are very wellcome !

from my memory they fired the piece of the weight redhot; put the shaft throught it and then put those clips on it, reason for heating the weight piece is to make sure there's as less play in the assembly as possible so it doesn't start rattling at no to low speed.

so you can do the same by heating it and then pull the pin out but as far as i know this isn't a usual repair..

have you marked the original place where it sats? if you didn't it's better to toss the whole primary in the bin now cause it will be out of balance.

Whilst it's probably easier to toss things in the bin, I don't see why an item balanced at the factory couldn't ever be balanced again with some ingenuity... Might not be easy, but don't see how it couldn't be done

Balance is not the problem, all parts are marked relatively and absolute in relation to their origin.
B.t.w., the weight carrier can only be fitted one way on the splined axis, vacuumduct over vacuumhole.

Problem is the "shrink to fit" assembly - once a cold (small) pin is pressed in a hot (large) part you can't separate them by re-heating, you will heat the pin too.
The weight isn't revolving around the pin, as an assembly they both rotate in brass bushings pressed in the cast iron,
it seems the circlips secure the bushings, not the pin

I think I take the cowards way out and settle for A solution

there is only 1 cvt balancing machine in the whole world and that is owned by a technical member of the DCN, any attempts balancing the unit without that piece of equipment have failed in the past resulting in heavy shaking cars and parts breaking down.
