I have given up trying to fix the current carb on the 340, it really doesnt want to work properly.

So has anyone got a cheap 1.4 carb which works? preferably localish?

Cheers Dan

Hey Adam

Its really weird, it started at what i thought was vacuum leak, rpm wouldnt hold and car stopped at lights, so i replaced gaskets and rpm would hold but constantly change where it sat, sometimes 1000 rpm sometimes 2000 rpm and then sometimes it would barely idle at all.

Now its started to not let me drive flat out, when ever i pull away and go passed 3500rpm it suddenly loses power and the car sounds really weird then when you change gear it goes away until you floor it again in the new gear. The idle now sometimes idles fine and sometimes idle high/low or like up and down like a vacuum leak.

Got any ideas?

Cheers Dan

Dan have you checked all the jets and emulsion tubes for gunge? Sounds to me like something's got partially blocked.

your carb.
