360 Turbo 0-60 times

Post by Ride_on »

Just wondering what this thing will be like when I finish, 360 Saloon with stock 940 2.3 FPT 96 Engine, with variable boost.

What are others getting for 0-60 on theirs?

My 940 estate does about 8.5s stock, and about 7.5s with 11psi. I'm hoping for sub 6s for a 360.

How much boost do you plan on running? I ran 10psi on my B200FT Wentworth saloon - no way was that anywhere near 7.5 seconds, more like 8.5. I since owned an S40 T4 with a book figure of 7.3 and that was much faster.

6 seconds in a 360 is certainly possible with 200bhp, I suppose 12psi a 3" turbo back exhaust (without cat) should get you most of the way there. Might be awkward though if your car has PAS!

That isn't too far off to give you a good idea.

No Pas or Cat on the 87 GLE, but I was thinking of holding back on the huge exhaust, to keep it looking as standard as possible, even to the point of fitting a standard 360 exhaust from after the downpipe, but I'll do it with an adaptor so I can try it out.

I've run a 940 B230FT Engine on 11psi for about a year with no probs, except when I tried a top speed test. It does over heat stress the turbo if you keep the foot down too long.

I think you'd be massively restricting yourself if you fit a standard 360 exhaust, which is if I recall correctly a 2" system. 700/900 turbos from which you'd be fitting the engine from I think are 2.5"? I would go with atleast a 2.5" system, but most of the guys tuning the bigger bricks tend to fit 3" exhausts as a performance upgrade and they tend to work very nicely. If you're having to custom make the exhaust anyway I'd try and go for 3" (easier since you don't have PAS!), that way you get rid of that silly backbox the Mk3 360's have too.

Yeah they go nicely the 900's even on a stock turbo with a bit more boost! Fast enough to be fun and upset reps in their £20k derv mobiles
