Who can and How do you weld a 360 diff???

Post by Dub_Addict »

first off i am gonna say hello to everyone as this is my first post.

well to start i lost my volvo virginity about 2 months ago to a 360 glt and have had some great fun in it already (especially in the snow lol). the car is being built as a low budget drifter so welded diff is high on the list of to do's.

already i have done a few simple mods: buckets, blocks, induction kit, stripped, weller steels, steering wheel etc . but now the time has come to weld the diff, but before i get it done i wanted to pick some brains!

i know some of the ins and outs like draining oil, drying out, making sure theres no slag left in there etc, but my main question is can it be welded on the car?? i can do everything else but weld it.

also is there anyone in the essex area who can do it and for how much??
the car is being built on an EXTREME budget so would need to be cheap.
so far including bying the car i have spent £350! it is tatty and has got worse since my ownership (after sliding into the back of my mates suzuki sj in the snow lol good times) but it has been extremely well maintained and will end up being tramped anyway.

hopefully someone can help or maybe someone has a welded diff for sale??

thanks
