My grey 340 Redine (1.7) 5 Door F reg has just failed its MOT.
It failed on fog light Bulb, Rear box ehaust , N/S parking Brake and driver's door not able to open from outside.
It needs a new door anyway as previous owner (friend of the mother-in-law) wacked it whilst reversing. there is a door available in Essex for £50 off a redline being broken and I have Tel No if any one interested.
there are two newish tyres on rear (3000 miles ) and it is a cracking runner . My Partner does not like the car and as she has just passed her driving test wants something 'girly' with power steering!
Hence this vehicle is free to anyone who wants to pick it up from Swindon
Jctn 15 M5. The MOT has now expired. MIleage is about 100900
If you were to fit door yourself I expect you could get MOT done for £150-£200? (or even less if you did other jobs yourself?) plus cost of picking up door from essex or he will send for £50.
Or would be usefull for spares if you want to keep another 340 going for a while !

baggsy first dibs on this, just got to run it by me Julie 2nite and then arrange collection , Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease let me have first shot as I might be able to repair it and let sky have it ,so by letting me get it we get rid of the C"*sa sm77I If I cant repair it I need the front bumper , the bonnet and the wheels (still cant get the valve caps off)

LOL, not quite Mick, you need to have a collection of at least 7 300's to be classed as getting close! A good start I must admit, but come on, what are these doing in the collection "two folding campers ,a toyota lucida and a corsa?" Swap em for Volvo 300's, then you're talking!

thanks to Steve and Pete I now have the only two greys in the village.the new car drives really well and have mended the rear fog light already using minor force and a well aimed thump, gonna have a look at the door mechanism tomorrow , like my redline theres a bucket load of history and bills with this one , still cant decide whether to break it or do the work and put it through the mot. drivers door will need replacing along with back box and the offside parking brake is innefficient Biggest surprise of the day was the glass volvo pop up sunroof

Do the work mate!! the backbox will be about £20 if you buy one and fit it yourself. Get a tempory grey door and wait for either redline strips or a redline door to come along. (not sure if volvo still have redline strips in stock, but a possibility.

Good luck with the new toy Mick, all these redlines... where are they all coming from?! A nice model though Hope it can be saved rather than stripped for spares if its driving so well.
