Same as a 1.4 manual prop.

So out of interest, what's the physical difference between the 1.4 manual and the 1.4 auto prop?

1.4/1.7 manual prop is clamped on both sides
1.4 cvt prop is held at the front clutch shaft by a retainingclip and held in place on the rear by a spring.
they used clamps instead of spring retaining on the manual versions simply because it has a manual clutch; on very rough driving with high rpm shifting in the low gears the engine could tilt enough that when you kick the clutch the prop could potentially come off the spline shaft; this was more of an issue with the 343 and early 340's wich had the straight engine mounts up front; these 1.4's moved a lot more than the later version with the 45gr front engine support
also a more important difference; the manual prop is longer and you can't fit a cvt prop to a manual or the other way around

Thank you for your informative post. I'm familiar with the spring down at the primary end on Varios, just never had a proper look under a manual car
