My new car.

Post by filthyjohn »

How many of these do you see every day?

I posted about this over 2 years ago now, but my mate's given up and is selling it to me to fund a 6 month working holiday in Vancouver. It now has this engine in it, but you'll have to trust me as I have no pics of the finished install.

I'm giving a large amount of money for it, so go to this thread and buy all my tat:

Lovely looking car mate...

What's the deal with these with the XE(?) conversions? What kind of gearbox/rear axle do they use? I'm gonna guess Omega gearbox and standard rear axle/prop? (and probably be totally wrong   )

That Manta is gorgeous ... I can see why you're selling your stuff ...

How about keeping a V300 as a daily?

I was going to say my memory is terrible and i'm sure i've not been on here two years but it turns out i have.

However i deffinately remember seeing that car somewhere before infact those very pics so either on here or was your mate a member on RR's?

Either way looks to be a sexy beast, get some more recent up to date pics as of when you can.

If that car was a woman. I would totally do it.
In fact, best not leave me alone with it.
I'd probably do it anyway.

Sexy machine. 8)

Yeah I remember there was one in the same colour at RR last year. Coincidence?

Very nice.

Had my eye on a newer manta which parks up around my Uni lately. That's nice, but this is a whole league above :D

B series manta 5 speed Getrag, custom prop, standard axle. The omega box would work but it's much bigger so it'd mean cutting the tunnel.

That's the plan Tom, don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I still have a turbo 360 to finish, and my amazon will be buried with me.
griffo20022 wrote:OOOOOOFFFF Thats beautiful! Very nice purchase there dude, it's gonna be fantastic with the XE in too! Whats the plans? Are you keeping injection or going carbs?
It's running on R1 carbs with megajolt ignition, should have around 190hp in a 900kg shell. That's around 210hp/tonne, the same as a new Focus RS

I had a thread about it a while ago, about the trip to collect it. Also, my mate is on RR and those pics above are ripped from his thread. Good spot dude.

Indeed, coils all round, stick axle with panhard rod. Handled awesome before it came off the road. I'll PM you about the B series bits you mentioned.

It must have been a coincidence 'cos this poor thing has been parked on a drive under a cover for ages. It'll be coming out to play soon though.

Not quite, as a clue I'm getting it for about half what it'd be worth if it had MOT. sm4

Sorry, this thread was asking for that one

That exhaust manifold alone will cause some damp places on pants, but watching those videos cause early laundry day
