There is 40 holes, also there is missing 2 holes in 2 places. Now what are these places, 0 and 180 degrees or something different?

How is pickup working, does it go positive or negative when there is no hole?

The two common patterns are 32 - 1 or 60 -2, ie: 32 teeth with one missing tooth, or 60 teeth with two teeth missing, my b172 had what looked like 60 -4, with two sets of missing teeth!! renix systems do seem to have odd tooth patterns! the ecu I have ATM will only recognise 60-2 or 32-1, with the missing teeth 90 degrees BEFORE T.D.C. Can you set the tooth count in your ecu? If we fit one of these systems to a car with an odd tooth pattern, we use a trigger wheel 32-1 mounted on the front pulley, and mount the sensor so it looks at the missing teeth 90degrees before top dead, The sensor location does not need to be 101% accurate as there is an ignition ofset setting in the ecu parameters, so when you get the car running, you set the lower end of the ignition table to a nice flat value, say 10 degees, do this from zero revs up to about 3000, and go 3 or 4 load lines up, as when you first start the car, it may not run where you expect it to on the map! so this ensures you will have 10 degees as long as you make sure any compensatios are turned off.
Then with the car running, you can check the actual timing value with a timing light, and trim the ignition ofset so the figure in the map matches the figure on the timing light. Remember that with wasted spark systems, you will have to halve the timing light value to get the true figure! My ecu is Megasquirt, not yet installed though.

It can use virtually any pattern, however using other than 36-1 is not yet too well tested.

sorry the 32-1 I refer to should be 36-1 as required for your ecu. the trigger whell I have is 36-1 sorry for the mistake the table shown in the link is quite similar to the table from an omex 700 E.C.U. I find these quite taxing on the brain to get set up I dont understand what the numbers in the table refer to, is this the tooth count from the missing tooth to the firing event? The numbers in the table dont look quite right for this. have you worked out where the missing teeth are on your flywheel, I am quite interested to know as it sounds like a very odd number to use!! If it does have two sets of missing teeth, I dont think it will be useable as I think the ecu will count each set as one revolution and go out of sync...... could you use a flywheel from somthing with bosh motronic injection? I think motronic uses 60-2? might be worth investigating. are you going to use a cam sensor and run it with sequential injection or are you batch firing the injectors?

Right, I've now had a look at the flywheel it has 40 holes and 2 gaps 180 opposite each other.

My book says that you place the first hole after the gap at 90 after TDC, so the first holes after the gap must correspond to 90 before and 90 after no 1 TDC.

Those are teeth counts in that image I posted, but those are default values, I have not yet set it.
I have been soldering wires to connector, what a pain job to do, wires are too thick or something

I will use batch fire that has 2 injectors firing at time, 2 squirts per revolution. Still I'm not quite sure how it works, need to learn more from this, but good thing is that software does pretty much everything, I need to set just few paramaters.

Injection time is taken from rpm signal, ecu does some calcultations of course, I don't know exactly what calculations, but I trust it to knows what it is doing, lol.

This ignition thing is very difficult for me to understand as I need to start learning from 0, but slowly I'm getting there.

So I think I need to put 44 into first box 'wheel decoder base teeth', then I need to set number of teeths from missing holes to tdc, or then not. Hmm, I need to think this little bit more, there is probably some boxes that are not needed to use.

However, I ended up with this, maybe right?:

I can get 36-1 wheel for 20 euros from local ford dealership so it is not very expensive. I think that I will use it at some point, so I can get 4 coils ignition.
That takes over a year however
