Hi, my clutch isnt slipping or anything but i have noticed that the pedal is lower than it should be. If you put your foot under the pedal you can lift it up a bit. What would be causing this and how can it be sorted?
1.7 manual 340 1989
Many thanks phil

Mine can be lifted from underneath, I think it's normal. Get under the car and you'll see a hole with some threaded metal poking out your bellhousing. This is your clutch cable adjuster. The 2 bolts on the thread - undo one and move it about half a cm, then turn the other one clockwise or anti-clockwise about the same distance and see what happens to your pedal. Can't remember if clockwise lifts up the pedal or puts it down, but it's very easy to find out. Having a friend or wife to tell you what is happening while you are under there makes the job twice as quick.
