Hi everybody,
I have a M47R 5 gear on my Volvo 360 GLT and I want to know if I can take advantage of a "new" M45R 4 gear I have bought.
In other words, what parts can I use from the new one to renew mine (gears, etc...)?
Thanks a lot for your help,
David.

I have no idea, but I'd suggest the place to start would be

Thanks Chris for your quick reply,
I have these two diagrams and I have compared them...apparently there is a lot of common parts...but I'm not sure about that...
Cheers,
David.

you can swap the first 4 gears + synchro's and that's about it, the axles/shafts and gearselecting mechanism are different
a lot of work though..

Thanks a lot...
I think it's worth it because the gearbox is "new" and fitting it directly on my car requires a lot of modifications on the transaxle and I will loose the fifth gear...am I wrong on that ???
Is there any modification to fit the 4 gears and the syncro's or it's just replacing them ???
Anyway I wish it will work...
David

Do I have to modify something to be able to fit the gears and the syncro's ???
Thanks in advance,
David.
