Hello, I have seen taht in the forum there are any cars whit welded diff, I´m thinking about make this change in mi 340 gl, but I have a cuestion: Is it fiable or you have problems whit it? I use the car in asfalt and I don´t want it broke the second day.

dont worry about your english its alot better than some english people
and it depends what you want the car to do it
welding the diff is mainly done for drifting but can do alot in other forums of motor sport
ive been running one in my daily 1.4 for about 4months now and its not a problem not broke a thing
and it gets abused daily hope that helps

I have bouhgt the car to learn to make drift, but now volvo likes me a lot. I want to use the car in asfalt and I am thinking about to make a rally car wiht it, wiht a 2.0 engine from a R21 or similar.
Actualy I use the car sometimes to go to work, but I have other 2 cars, it isn´t a problem.
Any other opinion?

i use my car for all sorts but at end of teh day just weld it if you dont like it
just get another open diff

Nicely put! I had a daily with a welded one, loved it!

thats the best way of putting it relay just got out and do it
after all its not a hard job taking the diff out
but mines bin in a daily for ages now and all ive noticed is the drive shaft bolts come lose but thats it in about 4 months of
hard use most days and thats lowered with land rover shocks

It is if all the mounting bolts spin in their housings like mine yesterday

A lot of thanks for your answers, I´m waitting to talk tomorrow whit the spanish federation to know what have I to do to homologate the volvo as a rally car and if it´s easy (I think than yes) I will start to desing some parts to the car (I will start a post whit all I will make).
