reallly bad day

Post by pyro »

evening all.
got pulled by VOSA today, they revoked my mot certificate becuase i had a loose wheel nut and the steering relay 'felt worn' so im now at home stewing quietly. (the guy had obviously never seen a series landy)
To top that off my other half decided she wants nothing to do with me any more and ive had all my dissertaion ideas squashed.
So yea had a really peachy day.

the VOSA where pulling every single landrover that was passing. it was obviously bonus day for them. they tried to do me for driving on veg oil aswell.

ive already taken the landy to the mot guy who said he'll have a look in the morning and has seen no reason why it shouldn't pass.

rant over

Bad luck dude. Serious.
Drink and a fight'll put you right. And a pie.

Didnt know that Vosa could do that.
Seen them spot checking, but thought the most they could do was compel repair.

A good few years ago I got pulled twice in 6 months by them in my old transit tipper. Had to get M.O.T done again first time for a crack in the rear chassis and second time loose U bolts on the rear axle. Second time I just got rid cos what they didn't notice was another 3 cracks in the chassis!!! They just keep looking till they find something to justify a prohibition notice, especially if its an older vehicle. Being stopped by them is seriously bad news, well worth a detour if you know where they regularly stop people, especially if your feeling unlucky!

MOT revoked, that's a new un

Ive only dealt with them regarding commercial vehicles.Need any advice on prohibition notices and I'm your man

Don't take it to heart if I worked for VOSA I'd pull every Landy-guaranteed hit-they're junk

Think you'll find after the Lincolnshire incident involving the children any Landy over 5 yr old will be targetted and some would say rightly so.

That is properly bad day

Complains from one loose wheel nut, that is outrageous, I have driven car that had only one wheel nut in each wheel, they would probably crushed it on that scene (well it was a race car that had centre nut wheels, but that is minor detail  )

Life has odd way of showing you are alive, it throws crap on face when least excepted :? There will be better days, it can take a while, but those will arrive for sure.

Its betwen landy's and VW campers for pulling.

It's not so much having to have a new MOT done but more the cost.

Is there any kind of computer game where you get to blow up VOSA? If not someone should make one

the problem is is that its its essentially 5 years old, i didnt think they were allowed to do radom checks any more?

i would make some welsh comments as the inspector was welsh. but in present company i might not!

Good call Ben, see your judgement is returning.

Hope that tommorrow it a better day for you. I have a landy as well, but I can't find the keys anywhere and its been locked for over a year in a yard down the road. I guess that I won't be getting a pull in that any time soon, though I am thinking of smashing a window on it and repossessing it.

Download, unzip, run setup.exe and it can be found from start menu, propably under HP or JTbo, installer is crap, game is even crappier, but you get to blow up VOSA vehicle none the less :?

Took some 20 minutes to make, yet 60minutes to trying to figure out why damn thing will install to HP start menu location, still couldn't find out why...
