Centre console bulbs and taking the panel out
Centre console bulbs and taking the panel out
Well I started mounting my new boost gauge on the place of the ashtray and because none of the centre console bulbs are working I thought to fix em at the same time. I'm also cleaning up the wirings because some non-original wires running back there. Does the panel with clock, ashtray and lighter come out just by pulling it out with a screwdriver or is there something at the back that needs to be disconnected. And then what do I need to disconnect to get that panel with fan speed dial, recirculation switch etc... out. I know that heater cables and recirculation needs to be disconnected but what kind of connectors there are holding those cables in place. Easier to work when knowing what kind of mountings there are.
Also I also have a strange white wire with an an Abiko plug coming from the direction of the fan speed dial because when I pull the wire fan speed dial moves a bit.. Btw where the +12v wire for glove compartment light should come and what color wire would that be because now I have non-original wire for it because I couldn't find the original wire.[/url]

Hi , cant answer all your questions but here is what I know , the clock and cigarette lighter are on there own little panels and you just gently lever them outleaving the ashtray and surround in place,
remove the stereo and in the hole where it sits are a corrugated flap which comes out and inside the stereo hole are two screws ( one each side ) going horizontally , undo them and that should release the heater control panel ,once released you should be able to see all the wires and connections ,
the vents at the top comeout as a complete unit with the hazard warning light switch (held in by spring clips top and botom at each end ) hope this is of help to you

Thanks for both! That cleared things a lot. Yeah I guess it would be possible to change the bulbs without taking the panel off but I am taking it off because there's that strange wire coming from there and I wanna clear that mess out.
