steering lock wont engage

Front axle, springs, shock absorbers, wheels, bearings, calipers, drums...
Tuning: suspension, discs, alloys upgrade...

oiled it, bashed it.
don't want to open it.
anyone managed to unseize one?

Yeah it's a common problem. Just be glad it's not the other way and get yourself a stoplok :wink:

fair enough, I've put plenty oil in - does seem pretty siezed.
thinking about heating it.. bad idea.
getting stoplock asap, taking leads off for now.

Another thing is, if someone wants to nick your car the lock isn't very strong anyway :(

IMO, a steering lock is a bad thing. If someone tries to take your car they'll either break it or half break it and bend the bloody column. We should all use big disklok type devices anyway.
