Central locking issues- Won't work now!!!

Post by kelvingenders »

Nearly finished all my repairs, then noticed central locking has packed up. Can anyone suggest where to start.

Would start with the main switch in the drivers door. Its notorious for going funny.

Disconnect driver door sender, put power on it and measure if it gives a pulse. Then put power on all the door actuators without the little pushrods connected.
Then you see which ones work en which ones don't. They go bad often enough.
Some contact-spray in them helps most of the time. Otherwise replacements on junkyards can also be found on Citroen BXs if no 300's are available.

Does anyone know if any other Volvo's run these same central locking door switch? BX citrons are as hard to fins as 360GLT in Australia

I'm currently stripping some of the stuff out of my car. I didn't know it had central locking until after I bought it so I'm not going to miss it. Do you want all the cental locking bits and pieces even if you just want them for spares. The price is free due to saving me from a nagging about car stuff all over the backyard!! Plus it would be good to help out a fellow enthusiast :360:
