CD radio installation

hi guys,

i've got a question-i've bought a new cd-radio for my volvo 340 and i don't know how
to intstall it. the radio has an iso-plug on its back. can you help me in some way?

think you can get an adapter - try a normal car hifi shop.. you'll need a facia adapter too.

mines got a cd changer in it but i didnt install it so i dunno how the wiring is done

If it mounts the same as from a 360 then you need to pull the glovebox out to get at a hard to reach screw holding the back of the original unit in as well as the wiring. I did mine a while ago, so cant remember all the specifics, but you had to access the wiring and mounting screw(s?) from through the glovebox. Hope it helps

The later ones didn't use the rear screw I don't think...although I'm not sure...

Foggy's right, I didn't need to do anything that compicated with mine, pop off the covers either side of the orig volvo unit, 2 radio keys in, unit out. Autoleads harness -> iso adapter on, cage in, new headunit in.

I didn't need a fascia adaptor either!!!!

I've found you tend to need to enlarge the stock facia slightly (like 1mm all round), as the Philips / Volvo HUs are very slightly under DIN size.

This has been the case for two head units now...first a Kenwood, now a Pioneer. Isn't yours lacking its 'cage' anyway?

There's a lip on the front of the cage which fits into the outside of the frame.
