glass sunroof

I took an original volvo glass sunroof out of the other redline and I seem to remember someone heres dad has a good knowledge of sunroof fitting (possibly Steve p's )
how hard is it to retro fit these roofs ?, has anyone here done it and what dangers should I be aware of
( apart from cutting a bloody great hole in a perfectly good roof ) ,
dos anyone know of anyone who could fit it for me or if it would be possible to get a cutting pattern for one of these , I would like to use it rather than just bin or sell it

It is Steve's Dad mate, but that was Golde sunroofs, not sure about glass ones, if you do go ahead, I'll take as many measurements and bits as I can for you, if you don't, then I might have it off you

I'll ask my Dad for any pointers etc... afaik it's as simple as cutting a hole, and sealing the sunroof frame down onto the roof! I still have a Skoda sunroof in my shed that was awaiting fitment to my 2nd Favorit... but I sold the car!

Mick....why?! Sunroofs are probably the single biggest cause of trouble to 300 owners, and although the glass ones are much, much better than the metal tilt/slide ones, I just don't see why you'd want to run the risk of leaks, noise, etc....

I'd also presume that you'd need the 'subframe' which contains the drainage channels. In short, my advice would be don't bother, and be thankful you don't have a sunroof

No drainage channels on the glass one's Fog's, they really are a pane of glass with a rubber strip round the surrounding metalwork

Naff rubber seal I'd guess, I'll stick me head up when I take Kar out tomorrow and see if theres anything else there

Nah its not the rubbers fogs its the clamp you pull down to lock it, my blueline did the same so i got another handle and its fine now!!!

It leaks at the hinge edge, if that makes any difference...?
