a modest outlay , will see 220-230 hp - assuming a decent cam and headwork from a 2.3 engine , so i would start from there . , that would be more expensive than the turbo route .

add some stronger rods and pistons and i think you will do no end of damage to the drive line

to achieve 300 hp from NA needs a motor like this .

Oo.. EVO head. :P Those are not cheap. ~8000 euros depending which size valves you have etc... And then again EVO-engines are not always sold to whomever. New versions are mostly sold to rally cross drivers but older used are available though. Brand new full EVO-engine (with everything included, just "plug in" and turn the key) from Kent Karlsson (Motor Design Sweden) costs 38000 euros.. :P (No, there are not too many zeros in that figure :) ) Though as I said they won't sell those most recent and newest versions to whomever even if you would have the cash.

what turbo should fit the best? and is there any sites that have info exact info of B200E turbo?

I imagine the B200ET had a Garrett T3, although that seems a little big. We never had them here, so I'm not too sure.

The (later) B200FT here had a Mitsubishi TD04H-13c, which is good for low-down grunt, but less good for ultimate power, as it is pretty small.

Jou should not just get a turbo but a whole turbo engine.
If you aim for higher power you will get insane compression rates with an original B200E.
Get an engine from a 740 or 940 Turbo. It is not really plug and play, but close...

Nah it's not that big. It's just old design, looks big but doesn't get you too far. :P This one guy dropped a HX35 in his temporary B200ET engine as the real power engine is being built. :mrgreen:

It spooled. Dynoed 330hp +500nm with busted head gasket and extra rich mixture.. :P Good Volvo site http://www.oksanentuning.com/ though texts are in finnish. That 242 EVO is mad.. :shock:

Haha, well yes...although I was assuming we weren't going for 'nuts' here!

My reasoning was that the T3 doesn't spool that early on the B230ET (ie: it's an old-school turbo design), and the lower capacity won't help that - whereas the later Mitsubishi spools like crazy. Of course it could be a lot worse.

You can do a "+T", and bolt a turbo onto your old engine, but Jeroen is quite right that it's less hassle to just fit a complete engine, together with its correct ECU, etc.

Yeah I would also choose Mitsu or some other more modern turbo too. :P

The B200E only has a compression of 9,5 to 1, am I correct? How much does the compression rate need to be for a mechanicly aspirated engine?

I believe it should be between 8 and 9. I am not sure though...

You could install Aquamist water injection to stop the mixture from overheating and premature ignition due to high compression.
With wather added the ignition will occur only when the plug sparks.

Depends on the year. Some were 9.2, some were 10:1

B230ET is 9.3:1. With accurate tuning, it'll be just fine.
