R-Sport shocks are very rare.. DeCarbon is the manufacturer and front shocks are monotube design. Bilstein "copied" the monotube design from DeCarbon. ("Copied" as they paid patent fees for them back then)

The Tie rod ends from the 78-82 Golf are identical to the volvo 360 GLT ones, there seems to be some part sharing here!

The top of the casing is likely to be an issue, I think. IIRC, Adam had to have larger diameter strut tubes welded to the stubs of the originals in order to use more common 45mm inserts. 42mm appears to be an oddity.
