Interesting. Now I come to think about it, early cars did look to be a lighter, purer silver. Got pictures?

cheers

The car is still available. Is there no interest for the whole car? Or who wants to habe parts(which? an which price?) from the car? If there is interest I would think about dismounting the car

If you have to part it out, I'm still up for the steering wheel and boss, Benni ;-)

<edit>I'm sure it'd help your sale though, if you returned it to its original condition - ie fit a GLT front grille and the earlier type hatch. If you need the contact details for the silver GLT rear hatch just let me know ...</edit>

U sure? I got smokey silver, with the 18XX number (dont know exactly)...But can't find any parts in that color. 306 is easy to find!

IIRC, 184 was the silver on the cars up to 1986 (thus including the first MkIIIs), from 1987 on they were 306 "smoke silver". But I can check when I get home.

Paul, if you need a silver rear hatch from an '83 GLT (with GLT badge, MkII spoiler, GLT vinyl strips along the side of the window) just PM me and I'll send you the guy's details ...

OK, here're the "silver" codes from the MkII onwards:

1982 184 "grey-metallic"
1983 - 1986 184 "silver-metallic"
1987 - onwards 306 "smoke silver metallic"

Sorry Benni, you want to sell your car and all you get is a geeky discussion on paint codes ;-)
