Bump. The car is now at my house, but won't be welcome to stay for more than about a month. Anyone game one weekend? The next two weekends are pretty much out...

cheers

Hi all

I would be interested - what do you reckon - I would not be the life and soul of the Mechanic's Institute but seeing one of these cars stripped might put me off for life or even I might get the hang of them , I dunno.
Few things I would like to know how are door rubbers torque tube things like that .
James does this car have std metal sunroof - mine's just now started leaking a bit - of course I have never used it as a precaution

I can make any weekend just about

cheers mickt

At the current rate of progress, this coming weekend will be the most convenient for a few weeks. I hope to have the top half of the car (at least) stripped by the end of the weekend.

You'd be most welcome, Mick. If you don't practice, you don't learn, so come and get stuck in!

cheers

Hi Mick,

Sorry...I forgot all about the sunroof. It has a glass one, sadly. The seal is probably to blame if it's leaking...it's an acoustic seal, primarily, but it does also help keep the worst of the water out. Personally...I'm looking for a solid roof skin to weld on!

No worries...this will be going on for some time to come. The interesting stuff will be underneath, which will be the last work to happen, I imagine.

Which version, Jeff? Probably not...this car was converted to run the pre-renix hall sensor setup.

No desperate need for a particular weekend to be assigned to it, in that sense. I'll gradually keep stripping the car. The first foot or so is bare, as of tonight, and most of the AC stuff is out ;)

Hi Jeff,

I have a renix unit for that car, but it's on my 343 at the moment. It'll be available eventually, as I'm going over to a hall sensor setup...but I'm still using it at present.

The body of this car is pretty bad. I don't think any 'removable' panels are usable.

It has a bit of a 'stretch' mark in the paint in one place, but I don't think it's noticably bent. It may already be spoken for, though...

I'm heading to Devon on the 17-19th, so I can potentially do a drop-off if you want some stuff ;)

cheers

James
