Wow loads of replys thanks
The cars a daily motor that that i want to be able to give some stick of the evenings. By the sounds of it, a welder is what i need. But heres the possibly bodgy bit
If i cant find another diff, can i get my one welded bearing in mind its only got one plannet gear in there! Haha Is it possible to either build up the welds or fill it in with something? And also what type of welder do you use? Being cast i doubt mig or ark would touch it.
Ill be getting someone else to do it as i dont trust my own welding but im curious to make sure its getting done properly!
Thanks

I dont know whether its a good idea to do it to your broken one, i'd probably buy another diff, just to make sure nothing can go wrong. MIG's perfect for welding diffs

I know Nev at F1 Moto has got a welded one, my old one haha

Really nice gear change etc, why dont you give him a ring and tell him your position and he might be able to do it for cheaper? Thomas.............

back when ford sierras were rallying they ran welders

Got a source for that? I'm epically dubious, but would be interesting if they did.

There's almost some sense in doing that (much like having the characteristics of different slippers, why not a welder too) so more than possible, interesting!

Yer I just wish I could find the link grrr but if you look at some videos of them they leave two thick black lines usually with a lsd the two lines will be slightly different colour as lsd never 100% lock like a welder is
