That Mk1 is lovely, strong money but would you find another one? I recall a 5 door 345GL Mk1 selling around 5 years ago for £1200, given the prices at this end of the market and for 300's in general have risen, I don't think it's far off either - just perhaps slightly closer to £1k

There proves my point - £300 and rotten. Atleast on the face of it this doesn't look rotten at all, just needs a bit of work. Also, when did you buy a Mk1?! How long ago was it - decent 300's are all selling £1k upwards nowadays.

Actually, now I think about it, it was a MK2, with a MK1 dash/doors etc. John ended up with it, then it got crushed.
Looked solid even underneath, but poking the underseal revealed air. Lots of air.

Nice mint green, where have I seen that before . Got to admit it, that is rare and looks about as good as you are likely to get, (with the usual don't trust photos of 300's small print!). Price is far to high for a starting bid in my opinion, given that all of us would want to be ending up lower than that for the finishing price This will be a test of the market if any car is. Only the 2nd UK Mk 1 I've seen offered for sale since I bought JAK 74W in 2009. So they turn up at the rate of 1 a year! Rare rounded front stainless bumper... didn't foggy want one of those! and period front spoiler! I think if it had been a Mk1 2litre redbock engine then £1000 to £1200 would been reasonable....but we weren't luckey enough to get them in Mk1 form were we?
Anyhow good luck to the seller, hope it goes to a good home, this one deserves to stay as it is I think, at least that price will put of the destroyers!

Edit: it has got 10 months tax on it...assuming that stays thats £100's worth....still a bit steep though!

Yeah, it's not perfect - but I reckon that has to be one of the best Mk1's about. Certainly can't remember one coming up as good as what this looks on the face of it. Screen surround rot isn't nice, but then it is over 30yrs old, so acceptable. If it was a Mk3 340 then forget it

I was very happy with my new 340, but now that mk1 and my dream 300 has turned up on ebay a Mk2 360 GLT in grey 3 door! And seeing as I've only got one 300 at the minute I miight have to go for this! I would put a link up but I'm on my phone!

They grey 3 door is nice, shame it is a late one though - it will be a B200E

Nothing, just not as good/rare as the B19E (And you get Mk3 GLT wheels on the later Mk2 GLT's which look terrible )
