Horn won't work - Desperate

Post by kelvingenders »

Could anyone show me a picture (preferably colored) of the connections going into the "black plastic that sits over steering column". This has two connectors. I really need to know, cause I'm finding that when I try to connect this up to wire i think could be correct....

a) the horns don't work
b) the wires get bloody hot

All of which tells me I'm not doing this correctly

This is for a 360 GLT B200EA model (MK3 ) Australian

Can anyone help with a picture?

Take your steering wheel and dash surround off until you see something like this:

See those 2 pins poking out just above the steering column? Stick a screw driver over those. Basically the horn push just completes the circuit for these. If that works then it's probably a contact problem between that and the horn ring or within the steering wheel itself.

Edit: Re-reading your post it appears you've already got to this stage  Find the wires going into the back of these pins? I seem to remember one being purple but I'm not too sure...

just for reference, its normally a pink wire and a brown wire you need. Glad you fixed your problem Kelvin.
