VERY URGENT boot lock drama

hi just noticed my boot lock is shagged
it wont catch shut when i slam it,also if i push the actual lock mechanism with a screw driver,it doesnt click lock(i was expecting it to click lock then have to undo it with the key)
also when i put the key in the barrel actually comes out the lock!
any ideas or does someone have a spare with a key they could sell me please

Sounds like a bolt has come loose, have you looked inside (behind the button/lock mechanism) to see if the connector arm is still in place?

yes its all in place but on inspection in the grease i found a tiny pin inside thats definatley come out of somewhere

Sounds like the end plate has come off the barrel if the pin has come out. If you can locate it and fix the pin back in you can fix it. Its a sort of squarish arrow shape.

Hi mate.
Ride-on sounds like he has hit the nail on the head.You can get better acsess to it by removing the
tailgate wiper motor.Take of window wiper,then remove moter from inside the tailgate.This will let you see what you are doing a lot easer.
