Another insurance topic
Another insurance topic
So my current insurer are tesco and they royally shit themselves to learn I was going to modify my car. I just want to know what companies you guys are with (this isn't a time to show off your fancy policy chris
) I'm 21 with 1 years no claims but no past claims. I'm annoyed that the 2 years I was a named driver at Tesco doesn't count for squat now! Cheapest quote I've got on my 340 is £655 and that's with a non-standard engine swap declared. Classic car companies I've tried so far will not insure me so I'd just like to get an idea of other potential ones before I phone this broker and hammer that price down! Cheers
Re: Another insurance topic
Chris Knott through VOC
Adrian Flux
HIC
and ask Chris... he's got one hell of a deal!

Re: Another insurance topic
well at least you've not been quoted £3700 pal for a 17 year old with minimal mods lol (is there any decent insurers who will actually be realistic with a price?)

Re: Another insurance topic
Cheers for the suggestions guys, now to use my cunning skills at blagging
Re: Another insurance topic
A small tip, when you get asked about being a member of a car club and you're not in VOC or whatever, tell them about V3M. Apparently it counts
I got about £70 knocked off just for that! Still haggling
Re: Another insurance topic
Rofl, that is quite nice discount for being member of this place, should be added to why to join V3M list
Quite nice from their side too, we only dream from such feature here, sure it is not too expensive to insure compared to some prices at UK but system seem to be quite stick, they would laugh me out if I would ask discount because I'm member of V3M.
Like anything else, there are good points and bad points, in different countries those seem to be different.
Around 500 for year without no claims, but with my bonuses I believe that I pay 400, problem with many cars and one person is that system will not work too well, so I get every year tad more discount if I keep insurance running to all cars, every car is separate of course and have not much to do with what my personal history is.

Re: Another insurance topic
Sorted. The £655 was actually an unconfirmed quote because they didn't know what the engine was. Finally went with Adrian Flux for £780 but that's a 3PFT with personal accident (If its my fault they'll pay out for my car too basically) and that was only £15 extra. Excess is pretty high at £350 but that doesn't really concern me as I tend not to really hit things. This also covers my engine if it gets fucked in a crash. Also I've got unlimited mods which is pretty sweet
I could have spent another few hours on the phone and got it down further but that's good enough for me. Now I'm super super skint!
Re: Another insurance topic
I feel almost bad now! If it wasn't for me offering to give you some free gaskets... you'd not likely have spent the million pounds you just have
