Hi Guys & Gals
Thought I'd introduce myself, just bought a mint '86 C Plate 340GL in bright red, one owner 44,000 miles FSH, totally out of the box condition from my Volvo dealer who sold it new and have serviced it since. Its even got the original dealers sticker, tax disc holder and key ring etc!
Anyway drove it for the ist time yesterday and it goes superb, I am more excited about this one that the 59 plate V70 I have had for six weeks.
I will post some pictures over the weekend
All the best

Good buy dude.
And welcome to the forum.
Was it the one on ebay?
Seem to remember a red minter on there recently.

Dont think it was on ebay unless they didnt sell it and sold it to the dealer?
My understanding is the old guy has gone into a nursing home so his family disposed of the car.
Whichever I paid a strong price for it but the main agent has gone over it and done quite a bit of work on the carb, distributor & inlet gasket etc runs perfect the only thing it needs is a little touch up paint on door edges etc where the old guy has probably caught it on his garage wall... Oh and some peanut butter on the bumpers to restore them to new!
The radio instructions are even in the sealed envelope they came in!

Sounds like the same one I think. Was certainly a dealer car anyway. Was up twice with a big Buy It Now and never sold.
Was lovely though. Interior litterally looked brand new.
Strong money on a good car makes all the sense in the world.
Buy a tatty cheap one and youre gonna spend a whole lot more bringing it up to scratch in the long run!
Looking forward to the pics dude.

Yeah I bought it to loan to my dad for a while he was made redundant recently always had company cars and now he is 60 doesnt stand a chance of getting a job anytime soon.
I thought rather than get him something about a grand with problems I would get this from the main agent for less and he can use it to find a job and you know it will be perfect.
Ive told him I want it back though!!
I hope you guys are going to have a meet in the North / Midlands?
In case you remember the plate of the one on ebay this is C260 RCH

Cant recall the plate.
Meet sounds good though.
The 'northern meet' has been continually failing to come together for about 169 months, but a national meet in the midlands sonds like a plan for the new year.
though this HAS been said a few times before.

Hi Kris,
I've just paid fairly strong money (£750) for a 1987 340 DL with a genuine 18000 miles on the clock. In my opinion its worth paying the extra couple of hundred pounds or so for the privilege of not having to spend hours rebuilding the front valance and rear inner sills..
I'm in the West Midlands by the way. I've posted details of a local meet on December 28th if you fancy it. Its at Becketts Farm just south of Birmingham near to M42 J3.
Perhaps VND wants to leave his cosy northern confines and venture south for the day..

Pap job means I only get 25th and the 01st off though.
Dont think I'd make it down and back after the end of a shift man.
