Site for Romanian users

Post by arpi2390 » 13 May 2009 08:55 pm

Hello to everyone! I hope this won't be a problem, I've created a site about Volvo's in general in romanian, about all of the series including 300 series (being currently a 360 GLS driver it was top priority to ad it to the site). So for those who want to, you can visit the site at http://www.volvoseries.com with google translator you can get a good translation and those who are from Romania, you might find some interesting information there.
I'm hoping to build a database about Volvos in Romanian and I will make an English and Hungarian version of the site if there is a need for it, which I'm hoping will happen.
I hope it won't be a problem that I posted a link of another site but its for informational purpose. And as a respect for this forum and site (I've found a lot of handy advice here) I've added a volvo300mania.com link on the main page.
Thanks to everyone and cheers! :)

It's my pleasure. I've tried my best but I still have to gather information, as you can see under the 300 section I have included all the series from the 343 to the 360, but I do lack information here and there. Time will sort that out and as I was saying I'm hoping to do an English and Hungarian version of the site so that everybody can understand it and take part in discussions on the forum (which isn't really active now).
I hope I can help people out with information and if anybody is planing on a trip to Romania you can contact me and I can give you information about things here. :)
Until then drive safe everybody! :D

Romania, beautiful country where past meets modern era, I remember seeing how horsewagons (or were they donkeys?) and cars share roads, it is interesting country that has jumped quite quickly to very modern computer stuff too.

Very nice site you have made, when word spreads there will be more activity :D

First of all thank you for your compliments! :D
Well Romania is an interesting country, you got that right. You can still see horse-drawn wagons from time to time, but they are on the brink of extinction even here, the laws prohibit horse-drawn carriages on county, European and highway roads  So now you can't really see one only if you visit villages, than you have a high chance of seeing a few.
I live in Transylvania and a couple of years ago you could spot these one HP driven vehicles in city's too. But now you can't, were in the EU  we can't do that anymore.
As for technology Romania never lagged far behind other country's, we've had PC since the '95-'96. I got my first PC in '98 and we weren't the first people to get one, it was a second-hand Pentium I, but there were Commodore's here and 486's. Atleast here in Transylvania and now were quit well on this topic.
If anybody is thinking of a little visit to this little country you should do it, it's nice here, we have nice, still untouched mountainous regions with beautiful forests, the Carpathian mountains and of course we have Dracula's castle  (Vlad Ţepeş-es castle). If anybody wants to come for a visit, do it and you could even contact me to show you around. I'm Hungarian so I know two languages and you need these two to navigate through Transylvania.
Well the site's getting a couple of visitors per day but it's still low. I'm hoping it will get more, but for now it's not that bad because I don't have the time to watch over it, I have a couple of hard exams coming up shortly and I have to study for those.

[P.S. Sorry for my English, it might not be that good.]

Very interesting to hear from your country, it is only so much that can be read from books and such, nothing is better than first hand experience :D

If I ever get 360 back on road, I will make trip some day, actually I have planned to do some 5000km road trip in that part of europe with it. Time will tell when it will become reality, but I should hurry if horsies are soon disappeared from roads, I kind of liked how two different worlds are met, but of course it must have been bit of issue in reality.

Your english is perfect what I can see ;)

Good luck with exams! :D
