Ticked off?

Post by Speedy88 »

I'm getting temperamental ticking from one of my cylinders. It comes and goes randomly for a few minutes either way, however I never seem to loose power at all. Before I start poking around, any ideas what this could be?

Engine is F7R

Sticky lifter. Have you changed the oil yet?

No, it's due very soon though. Another 500 miles perhaps and I was going to do it. I think i'll change it this week then if it is the lifter. It's been about 4000 miles. I hope it won't cause too much damage in the meantime...

Mine was horrendous for tappety noise when we got it installed, a bottle of this cured it for 5,000miles. I'm gonna have to strip them soon though, it's coming back :(

It worked for my old one temporarily too, eventually though when we rebuilt my engine I picked up a refurbed set from Ebay for about £30 which worked a treat!
