b200k running like a....
**********
hey all
been having a few issues with the 360 recently, i tihnk i know what it is but....
in the past week or so, its been running like a bitch.
Reluctant to rev
running on when i switch the egine off - dieseling
shite fuel consumption - well not to bad just not what it used to be
reluctance to idle when warm, cold, or anything in between. it only does it somtimes though.
when im changing gear the engine dies when i dip the clutch. revs just drop right down untill it dies.
only evident problem i can see is when i was fitting the hot air intake, the one that runs at the front near the lights, i tore the pipe. but i doubt its causing such problems
its had new spark plugs, fuel pipes, filters (air and fuel)
i think its running rich and needs a carbatooter rebuild...
or an air leak some where...

Re: b200k running like a....
sounds like the floater is faulty, it's the same piece of shite plastic used in the 1.7's solex
Re: b200k running like a....
thanks for that i was thinking it was a float problem.
are rebuild kits available as i cant seem to find any thing to so with the cisac....
i was debating putting a different carb on it, something like a weber 32/34 dmtl. ideally id like a set of weber45 dcoe but money says no!

Re: b200k running like a....
What do people think about putting the weber 32/34 dmtl on? its jetted for a 2.5 so will need rejetting. its a direct replacement for the solex, same fittings etc...
i remember foggy said it would be a useful size on a 360 mind....

Just got a new 357xpg-pretty good mid size saw IMHO-revs up real well.
Well, certainly better than your 2 ltr by the sounds of it
Should be plenty of 38 dgas' knocking about but would probs need jetting down

What's a cisac,exactly????????
DGAS is a decent carb.Lots of road rally lads with pintos put them on as a cheap mod, later replaced with sidedraughts so should be plentiful/
Ask Bogg bros what they have/think-they're pretty good and down your neck of the woods.

Re: b200k running like a....
the 34-34 Cisac is actually a way better carb than the 28-34 version used on the 1.7's
these type of carb's if they are in good working order are possibly the most technologically advanced versions in the 300 series. i am convinced that all the extra problems the 28-34 has is due to the barrels being different sizes with causes temperature fluences through the carb; it was a problem Solex knew of, since the 4th version of that type of Cisac on the first V440's was modified to prevent the warping effect
the actual only downside on the 34-34 Cisac carb is that it has the same piece of rubbish floater of the 28-34, with an expected guaranteed lifetime of 1 summer

Re: b200k running like a....
the CISAC is the solex carb on b200k/b230k engines. or at the very least its whats on mine!
ive just had a quick flick through the bay of e and there seems to be a fair few.
ive heard of bogg bros tho im unsure of what they could do for me regarding this.
im sure there used to be a carb tuner near clifton moor in york... but ive not been able to find it!

Re: b200k running like a....
depending on the price of the rebuild kit, and if i can get a float for the CISAC (as i seem to be having trouble finding any info/spares for it) im going to be rejetting the dmtl with suitable jets.
would i be right in thinking that:
some one in the know could tell me what jet size is in the solex and the weber dmtl equivelent?
and that the settings would be about right for me to finsh tweaking it with a set of gunson color tune plugs?
Ben

Re: b200k running like a....
well a rebuild kit from - http://www.carburettorspecialists.com/ - is £63 inc new float + vat. more than i wanted to spend but probably the best option.
from the heinz manual ive got the jet sizes as:
stage: 1 | 2
main jet (fuel) 120 | 115
main jet (air) 145 | 130
idle jet (fuel) 41 | 60
idle jet (air) 100 | 100
accelerator pump jet 60
any one got the DMTL equivalent, or the DGAS equivalent?
Ben
edit: it was all spaced out but when i post the spacing goes awry.
