Top ones arnt real starmags. Just steel copies.

Im watching a couple of decent sets man, i'll pm you links.
arr made the mistake of thinking all old VWs would use the same pattern.

Not bothered about 'genuine-ness' my 205GTi alloys on the peugeot were cheap replicas, but unless you were a pug geek you'd never know :D

Cheers

Cheers and please do!

I'm usually there from 7 till 9. My 'group' consists of a couple of corsas, white transit with valeting company livery, celica, nissan laurel/toyota hi-ace bus thing, couple of almeras, sometimes a mondeo, escort or two, zafira people carrier haha

proper random collection, most of the time its me, a corsa and the van, but they are all canny enough and mostly not teenage boy racers haha. nearly all of tgem have respect for retro cars too :D

But aye i'll definately be there. Hopefully in the GLT providing it gets MOT'd in the next couple of days so i can pick it up saturday/sunday on my way to/from whitby, and providing i can get the insurance sorted.

Sounds good mate. I don't have a 'group' any more lol. We never bother with crusing etc anymore. I may be with a 400bhp MR2 though. Good challenge for the VTS's. Although if that was out then I doubt I would wanna be in my 360 lmao.

Almeras you say? I may know them, or of them. I have a Nissan and used to hang around with some of the AOC lads. As you say, quite a mixed crowd you have. 340pw

Try and get yours on the road. Then we can have at least two in attendance. maybe more if VND/FJ etc are up for it.

their usernames are gtabomber and leeandjude but lee's got rid of his for the laurel and the toyota bus thing

Your welcome in our group :D we are all on 'tunedcar.co.uk' site, sorta local modifying / enthusiasts site.

I take my car whatever else is going up. normally soem of the JNE people come up in their supras and liners.

we don't tend to do much cruising like, usually just meet up, banter then more banter in the warmth of KFC

I'll make all the effort i can to get it up there, most of it is down to the people i'm buying it off sorting the MOT

well its going for its MOT tomorrow, any work that needs doing (although thats not likely i've been told) will be done then and there

Then its getting 6 months tax put on before i get it. So could be picking it up thursday / friday. cannit wait but looks very likely I'll have it out on sunday night though :D

Insurance doesn't take long to work out on the phone so earliest would be thursday night - that would be the best!

Nice looking car and I totally agree with the 'keep it standard' viewpoint. Stii, its your car so you can do as you please but too many of these are being ruined by none reversible modifications and dodgy matt black paint jobs.

Interesting theory about keeping the heater fan on to dry-out the sills but as the sill is a closed box section covered in thick carpet I'm not quite sure I see the point. Just my opinion you understand..

yeah i'm leaning to the standard sort of way now.

But cant go completely. I WILL be changing the stereo and putting my sub in - but thats totally reversable.
Stickers for the clubs i'm in will go on the windows or boot (little tunedcar.co.uk one and an Institute of Advanced Motorists one :D )
Lowering, wheels - both can be undone.
Fancy leather seats, possibly a nice exhaust, airfilter/inductonkit?
Will be doing my best to rust proof and remove any thats there though, and get the paintwork shining- my mates a valeter :D
Mount teh fire extinguisher securely

my list goes on...

Couldn't stand matt black painting it now i'v seen how nice it is.

I'd definitely go for a decent stereo (mine still has a LW/MW radio cassette) but the rest is personal preference. I'm pretty much into originality but each to his own.

Institute of Advanced Motorists sticker?? I bet you've been waiting ages for an excuse to drop that into the conversation....
