F7P engine
F7P engine
Hi all,
I got this engine from Oscar (Sliderman) as part of the deal with his volvo 340, but I've decided for what I need the car for, the F7P would be a waste and the 1.7 will do me.
As such I have a huge box full of F7P bits that form about 1.5x F7P engines haha.
Basically a disassembled F7P that Oscar started rebuilding as the big ends were worn. He ordered all brand spanking new gaskets etc etc. So new headgasket, exhaust gaskets, rocker gaskets, sump gaskets yada yada yada. Just no big end shells as he ordered them and they didn't arrive.
It comes with 2x inlet manifolds, one has been smoothed off to remove the casting marks and stuff, looks a bit neater.
Comes with the original mounts and loads of pipework, engine loom, ecu, flywheel, cam cover, couple of alternators etc.
I was supposed to use the brand new clutch with this engine but ended up scavenging it for the 1.7.
Not sure what it's worth but you're welcome to make offers and come and have a look.
Since they aren't advertised on here very often, and the cars are becoming very thin on the ground. I'd like to think £200 would be a fair price.
Just come and take it away so I have unit space. Then fit your sump and gearbox/clutch, switch the TB mounting round on the manifold, do some wiring jiggery pokery and you have a 140bhp+ 340/360.
Located in Alrewas, which is near Burton-on-trent/Tamworth.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: F7P engine
Sorry my mistake, just re-read Oscar's post. He took it apart as he was changing the sumps, and he just wanted to refresh the lump. No actual big end issues.
From Oscars ad:
"Renault F7p from a good cond. R19 16v. This has been stripped, cleaned and the block painted in blue. As I was swapping sumps, I decided to replace the big-end shells, but the ones I ordered didn't turn up. Engine is currently apart and needs shells before assembly. Old shells are still here so you can see condition (not fecked, but a bit worn.)
Along with the F7p are:
New gaskets inc. head gasket and valve seals.
New head bolts.
New AP clutch (no longer for sale, in my 340)
New cam belt
New alt. belt for a Renault spyder (correct belt for this engine w/o power steering)
Full loom and injectors, rail etc.
2 x F7p exhaust manifolds
2 x F7p inlet manifolds
1 x F7p downpipe
Straight through 2" bore silencer (new)
Head, good cond. with cam pulleys painetd gold.
All covers/dizzy, plugs, leads."

£130 or I'll keep the beast, rebuild it myself and throw it in the river.

Re: F7P engine
Right, well I still have this. Nobody is interested...?
Pretty disappointing to be honest, as I bought the car thinking I could fit the 16v or sell it on if I didn't want it. Turns out nobody in the UK wants a 16v engine either, even with every brand new gasket you can buy, new timing belt, new head bolts, and spares.... Seems a shame to throw it all in the bin. But I'd rather have unit space than a couple of boxes full of engine that I can't be bothered to fit to my winter hack.

Re: F7P engine
I might be interested in the gaskets etc as my engine currently needs a rebuild...I'm in Germany at the moment, but if you can hang on a couple of weeks i'm back in the UK on the 25th.
Re: F7P engine
If you were nearer i'd be interested, plus a lack of space doesn't help me.

Hi
I'm from north wales and have a G reg volvo 340.
This would be a great donor for my car.
i was just wondering due to the distance and that the engine is unbuilt what is the best you would do on it
and how unbuilt is unbuilt?
Cheers
Ben

Something like that, it makes perfect sense and should virtually pay for itself... in theory at leastChris_C wrote:This amuses me a lotAlex Laidlaw wrote:I'm afraid this engine is now sitting in my garage!Did the fact Fake got better economies than you make you see the light
