Save bit more and get rechargeable batteries, NiMh type is quite good for camera usage as there is no memory as there is with NiCd type. It will save really a lot in the long run and I think they will even last longer until need to recharge.
First few times might be quite short, but after that run in is done and they will be so much better than those use once batteries.

I'm going to get some nimh batteries, and a car charger for them, but honestly, I have to get this car fixed on a shoestring, I probably will manage it - if I don't it would be my first "failure".
