So I have decided to get 12V electrics to my house, together with intelligent HA using PC, as C# is what I know most I have found that FEZ and Netduino are two sensible priced brains that I could use for various of things and they can talk with pc so I can have centralised management of things.
Currently I have surveillance system software that has motion detection, face/numberplate recognition and object tracking with cameras, then 1-wire system to monitor temperatures.
So I'm planning to add door monitors via magnetic switches, reed or hall effect and some light control, also heating control that would drive several electric heaters are in plans according to one or several photosensors in black boxes for perimeter control.
I just don't know which product I should go so I could drive 12V relays and some 230V relays, from what I have seen they do about the same.
There is of course quite bit of learning needed before I can make any meaningful.
Laser fence should be rather easy to setup so might be first experiment, also it is really cheap to make.
