My 360 won't start?!?!
Hi all,
I've just had my dad fix my 360 for me. I came home about a week ago, left it for a bit, then went to go somewhere ad there was radiator fluid all over the ground.
So we took the radiator to get fixed, and the people who fixed it put a new core in it. We also put in a new air filter, fuel filter, and thermostat. Now my dads just put it all back together, and whenever we try to start the vehicle this happens:

Any ideas? Thanks heaps people, we just can't figure it out.
EDIT: would just like to add that me dad isn't a skilled mechanic haha. He knows a bit to get by, and fix basic problems but that's it.

Where abouts did you change fuel filter. Engine bay or the one near the fuel pump?

Have u got a hayes manual?
Re: My 360 won't start?!?!
Ok so it's getting fuel and spark but then no fuel. Hmm I'd say fuel filter might be something to think about. Fuel pump going? Fuel pump relay?
If you hold the starter on even when it fires, will it keep on firing?

Yeah we got a Haynes manual
still can't figure it out. I'm not at home at the moment, I'll have a bit more of a look through it then me thinks
Though the fuel filter we changed is the one in the engine bay. I only got a new aftermarket fuel pump like December last year because the old one was leaking, and it's been working perfectly since. Well, seems to be anyway.

Take off the feed after the fuel filter and check the fuel is coming out, use a suitable container+rags.
Fuel is pumped only when the engine is turning, although there is some debate how this works. My theory is that it pumps fuel for a second maybe, but if there is no crank sensor it stops (as a safety mechanism). Others thinks it doesn't pump atall until it sees crank signals. This is all done in the relay, simple analogue electronics, nothing to do with the injection control unit.
You could also put a light on the fuel pump fuse behind the battery and see that it is going at the right times.
You might just need to do it a few times to get the filter filled but you have probably been doing it for a while now..

Have you checked the fuel pump fuse in the auxiliary fuse box (by fog light fuse and behind battery)? I've had this before, perhaps the vibration from the engine upon starting is affecting the already corroded connection??

Fuel pump relay or the aux fuse on the inner wing is the first things to check.
You never heard it from me.... but if your in a pickle you can wedge the contact open in the fuel pump relay with a bit of cardboard.
ssshhhhh.I was'nt here

Re: My 360 won't start?!?!
Thanks for all the help everyone!! Turned out there was plastic crap in the new fuel filter, which stopped fuel getting through. Still needs flushing out a bit more, because it takes a bit more to start, but at least it works now!

The Fuel filter by the fuels pump has a code Z153 (I think) and is readily available in Australia

Re: My 360 won't start?!?!
Hi everyone, haven't got a lot of time to post here, but I was just wondering if anyone knows the Bosche number of the Volvo 360 Fuel Regulator, or a place where we'd be able to get it. The one on my car was found to be the source of a bit of bunny hopping and my car just stopping in front of a bus full of kids on the main street yesterday.
Promise to post full story later.
Thanks
