early blueline

didnt know they made blulines ( and therefore probably redlines ) back in '82 , I have bought this just out of interest ,

Just the blueline made then I think... then they must've continued the name later on with the mk3s

Mk3 Redlines were only availible in 88, and Bluelines in 89. I sure that brochure first time round, so they must have had the name previously too, unless the 89 bluelines were the first time they came to blighty?

Yep, the MK2 also had a blue line version. It's a dutch brochure from Nova Scotia...

It is batched as a 345 GLS. Someone from V3C has one (for sale).

Awww, well, I'm not sure what date they pulled Redlines and bought out Bluelines mate! I found an insurance thing a while back, and the drop down choice on Redlines showed back end of '88, and Blue lines front end of '89.

On the VOC website they have the brochure for the Redline and it's dated 1987. the cars would have been available for 89 and possibly, if they didn't gallop of the forcourt, into 90. They were in production for a very short time.
I met a guy recently who works at a Daewoo garage (wife has a Matiz) who remembered selling only one when he worked at a Volvo franchise. He was amazed to see mine as he'd not seen a black one.

Well Mick i did see that. I dont need it though as i have the real thing and a proper 1989 blueline brochure to go with it!!! lol

funny mine wasnt badged as a gl just had the 340 badge when I got it, and why did they have to use a black one for the brochure !!!

Oh! And I think it was trying to compete with sales of the XR3 and GTis. Even the hot hatch Pugs had a red line around it and most of these were in dark grey or black. It was the current fashion I think.
