Volvo use two different standard manifold tappings, which you can pull from almost anything with a redblock. You need the 'smaller' (and more common) one for a B200E.
I suggest soaking the business end (ie: the nipple) of the econ gauge in white spirit for a couple of nights, as since it's been connected to a French engine it'll probably be full of oil and not work properly.
mine packed up completely yesterday, but luckily it was just the pipe had come off of the t-piece I must admit I am very surprised at how much the readings change and how easy it is to get it in the red lol
Finally got back to the Breakers yesterday and pulled three different tappings of a 7 series B200e, I now have ones with a small medium and Large size hole in them, any suggestion on which one to use?
To clarify - Vacuum gauge will work from any vac source - the kit includes both brass screw in fitting for manifold and 'T' piece (the B14 uses the 'T' piece).
The ambient wiring is not always on the car (in my experience it is rarely there). Apart from the gauge and the three securing screws you need the sensor, the 'main' length of wiring, and the two short lengths of wire that fit into the RH (from the drivers seat) plug on the rear of the instrument cluster.
(white/black in pos.12 and brown in pos.6) The plug opens to allow the fitting or removal of cables). Also note the sensor on a car with Smiths instruments is not plug in - it is threaded and is bolted to a bracket on the outside of the bumper mounting chassis rail. (the VDO sensor just 'snaps' into a hole in the rail).
If anyone is stuck I can e-mail a copy of the fitting instructions if you PM me.
If anyone is Really stuck I can probably sort out a new sensor (I think I have a couple of new ones). I could also sort out the correct vac take off too (I have about 10 new ones of those).
