The handbrake is f**king awesome!! Definately the most worthwhile mod i've done recently, guaranteed to lock everytime with no effort, with it closer to the gearstick i've learnt 3rd gear handbrake entries then drop to 2nd as you lose speed, tried to snatch 3rd coming out of the end of the oval in 2nd and the revs shot up but car straightened up, could smell something nasty after so not sure my clutch likes it too much! Fans have sorted the overheating problems though and it ran faultlessly despite spending a *little* time on the limiter haha, I need a longer 2nd!

Hmm yeah it is tempting to get a Renix without the limiter, could really do with a limiter though, just set a bit higher, any idea how high it'll be safe to go? Guess the only way would be to get a renix without one and then buy a seperate limiter such as omex, etc.

What about smaller tires? like 195\45-13 or 175\50-13 So you can use 3rd gear?

Or you can get more hp? A Volvo R-Sport Turbo kit don`t cost that much, or change to an B230 Et\ft...
Maybe some N\A tuning, you have a K-cam already? Then some porting of the head will do god, maybe a 531 head. And a 4-2-1 manifold.

If I run any smaller rolling radius i'll be on the floor lol, i've got a V-cam in there and a pair of twin carbs sat in the garage along with loads of turbo bits, just not sure what to go for

Efi turbo is something I recommend if you need more power.

That B200 wont like revving past 7000 without balancing bits and some say conrods are weak too, max 250hp and keeping revs low help them to survive.

Awesome video. May I post the link(s) on Turbobricks?

It does indeed look smooth...effortless even.

Personally, I'd leave the limiter there and add power. As long as it's on-load, the limiter doesn't really hurt it, and it's a get out of jail free card, so you can plant it without worrying too much. The engine in Ryan's 740 would (currently) self destruct if you tried the same thing...not nice.

I have a B230 here, if you want it. I will also look you out those carb bits. Sorry I've been slow on that, but I've been very busy, and if you saw the state my house is in, you'd understand the problem with finding them. We're moving in the next few weeks, so I'm sure I'll find it all then.

cheers

Posted on Tbricks.

Keep me posted on progress with the carbs. Is the B230 of any interest? 145lbft of torque, if I remember correctly.

cheers

Right the insurance has ran out (only insured it for a month) so now its time to get cracking on with more....

Old system before removal...

Image

Last time it'll be this loud :( maybe  def the last time it'll be so raspy anyway

Image

Image

Two snapped studs later...... there's plenty of bolt left though so shouldn't be a problem to remove

Image

Lost the light so haven't got it off the car yet, downpipe to manifold bolts are proving a **** to undo, and what shall be sitting in its place....

Image

Will update along the way :D

Arggggh, still can't get the bloody downpipe off! Managed to get two of the three bolts off now but they took a LOT of force even after a good soaking with wd40, now the last one....... just wondering if anyones done it before, am I doing this right? The access is pathetic, can't use an extender as the downpipe loops down right in line with the bolt so can only just get a socket on it anyway....

Also got a little distracted...
