Could someone do me a favour and post some pictures of the parts specific to the PAS system on the 360? It would help me a lot in my quest to find a LHD PAS steering system
This would be the rack:
... and this the pump:
... this the fluid reservoir:
... and does this look like the right lower steering column section? (different to non-PAS cars)
I would be grateful for any pictures of the
* Y shaped bracket holding the reservoir to the strut tower
* two heat shields for the lower end of the steering column
* exhaust downpipe (different to accomodate the new positioning of the rack)
* angle bracket bolting the downpipe to the clutch housing
plus pictures of anything I've missed out which is different to non-PAS 360's. BTW if anyone's got any of these bits, I'd be glad to hear from you
Knew there was something in the back of my mind that I should be thinking about! I need to find where I put the PAS rack and all it's associated bits when we removed it!
As Bogbasic says, that heatshield as well is something to remember. The main problem is how different things are for a LHD car, as I doubt you have to worry as much about the downpipe clearing too much.
Would Vadis show the different parts or similarities between LHD and RHD?

Thanks for the picture bogbasic! It's hard to know what you're looking for if you haven't seen the parts "in the flesh". Does the picture of the lower part of the steering column I posted above look like it could be the right one?

If you find the time to take a picture of the "bits", that'd be great!

You're probably right! I may not have to worry about the heat shields as much either. On a LHD car the downpipe and the steering column are on different sides of the car however they still come close to each other when the downpipe goes towards the catalyst & the exhaust middle section. But the space may not be as tight as on RHD models possibly eliminating the need for a heat shield and a different downpipe.
But this is all speculation - not having seen a LHD 360 with PAS I'm just guessing ...
VADIS may well help, AFAIK it lists LHD and RHD parts. I'll keep an eye out ...
The two downpipes do look different, however the seller assures me he removed it from a PAS 360 (B200E). Your downpipe's longer (missing the catalyst probably) and its got a different curve to it at the manifold end.
Haven't got VADIS to look it up unfortunately, but I'm beginning to think the exhaust downpipes of PAS and non-PAS cars only differed on RHD cars, because of the steering column getting in the way.
There's a lot more space to spare on LHD cars when the steering column is missing:

Our cars never had a cat, so that might explain the difference. I also don't know if that is the original (Volvo) downpipe - it may well be an aftermarket one of a slightly different design. I fitted that rusty one, as it has a bung in it for an oxygen sensor. The one (in much better shape) which came out was identical.
200e and 200k do have different brackets... I have both and was holding on to then to see which fitted bestest, but I'm thinking of just not PAS'ing Kar anymore... keep changing my mind though
I can't seem to find the rack at the moment, it's here somewhere, I'll be moving more stuff at the weekend. I'm sure I hid it somewhere in the dry! Anyway, found the PAS revervoir and associated pipes.......

No problem mate, you're welcome! Hopefully I'll find the other bits over the weekend and get some more pictures for you! A, providing I get time, B providing I find them, and C if the weather is good!
