Yeah, but at the moment its still blowing an alarming amount of water out of the exhaust. Though I'm sure its just resident in the exhaust already, as coolant level hasn't really decreased and I've to be able to give it a good thrashing.

Fioner did that to me, which I panicked about, but after a good blast she was fine. Before that she had sat in a damp garage, unused for numerous weeks (possibly months). Weird how some cars do that and some dont.

Meh, I can't actually make this event, as it happens to fall on one of the very few nights a year when I have something more important than rallying to do.

Ur right carl, when I bought the slaab it blew a little condensation out but that was all, and it hadn't really been run in 4months and was kept outside. Yet the volvos been under a roof and run occasionally but was blowing loads of water out!!

That'll be Hugh doing carb clean....
Having said that, I was stuck the other day and needed a quick blast through, water does work in a pinch, really small quantities

Nick seemed mostly confused, but that could be cos of the amount of cidar he'd gone through!
I'm not gonna go for this, it is too far for me

Need to get my sump guard fitted though, Aleks is showing me up with his 1.4!

Nothing wrong with the "water torture" as a de-coking exercise. Note that most of the "carb cleaning" products you throw in the top of the carb are barely cleaning the carb at all...it's all about the combustion chamber. I really noticed a difference when I did it on my stock 360.
cheers

That looks like a lot of fun, but there's so much about it I don't understand...I think I should probably join my local club...

Definately get involved with your club Foggy, can't remember if I showed you any of our style Nav or not now. Just remember, that lil road you wouldn't go down....

Not a hope in hell I was going down there in a car without a sump guard which I needed to get me home 200 miles!

I never used a sump guard (couldn't afford one) and I was always ok, and that included some pretty spirited driving.
Put a hole in a gearbox once though

And tyres with reinforced sidewalls are a good idea.

Nessy was scraping the ground on that white....and we only got about 10 feet down there. She does have quite badly sagged front suspension, but still...
cheers
