renault engine conversion help.
Hello i have just got hold of a f16ie block from a renault 19 16v (claimed to be same as williams clio 2.0 but isn't it just a 1.8?) and i am going to be putting it in a 340 1.4 therefore i need to check a few things before i get underway with the conversion.
i think i need
1.7 bellhousing
1.7 sump
the engine wiring loom for the engine - i have the ecu already but the scrappy has cut the main loom off and binned it.
i was going to use the renault flywheel and outer coverplate with the standard volvo 1.4 inner clutch plate? has anyone used this and do you think it would last?
ps does anyoen have any of these bits for sale?
cheers for any info before i get started.
matt.

I dont have any of the bits you need at the moment but here is what you need can do witth the clutch. Keep the renault flywheel as it lighter - use the renault pressure plate and the 340 1.7 friction plate and bearing. You will also need the 340 pilot bearing to fit into the crank of the renault lump.

The bits are not all that heavy and should not be to expensive to ship.

The 1.4 and 1.7 mounts are the same. You will obviously need the engine brackets.
I would not expect the rubber mounts to last long though

you will also need the engine mounting brackets for the 1.7 and dont forget a 1.7 bellhousing.
You will be best off buying a new spigot bearing as they can be hard to get out. The renault lump does not have one fitted
