Uprated pads?

Post by BigWig »

Are there any cars that share the 1.7 340 caliper? Because I'm after a set of uprated pads for mine. Unless there are any firms out there that actuually produce 340 fitment fast road pads of course?

Can anyone point in the right direction?

Thank you please.

I think mintex 1144's are or were available, quick question have you already changed fluid and flexi hoses? as my 360 is solely for rally and I have yet to get brake fade or fail to be able to lock up the wheels with standard pads (with old fluid and hoses too). If you have already done this and want more stopping power then by all means have a look for some fast road pads like here: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... tbrakepads

There are some Ferodo pads available

The best you can get, I think. Common used in the volvo 360 cup.

I agree with Jason B. You'll see a bigger gain with some Braided hoses and some decent fluid that you will with just pads. www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk can supply you with some braided hoses and as for fluid i'd go for Castrol Response. It's a Dot 4 fluid so it wont eat your oil seals and you'll be pressing on pretty hard before it boils over

Also in most respects dot 4 is a better fluid to go with than 5.1 as it is also less prone to water intrusion etc.

Thanks a lot people. Much appreciated. I didn't realise places like Euro Performance catered for the 340 - I spent ages searching Google as well.

Maybe this post could be put up as a sticky or in FAQ?

I'll probably just go for braided lines, EBC pads and standard discs - I run 5.1 in my other toys so I'll just go for that again.

Cheers!
