This is a F-block renault engine with added volvo low compression pistons, and I'm pretty sure that it will fit in my 86' 1.7 360, but since i'm not 100% sure, i'm asking. Would it fit?
120bhp, very little boost (0.4) and restricted exhaust. 1.0 bar +sports exhaust and it will develop surely ~200.
If your engine looks like an F series block, then it will fit, apart from the inlet and exhaust manifold. There are inlet manifolds off of 1.7 renaults and volvos that will fit, but the exhaust will have to be customed.
Hmm.. rebadged or some weird bodgery, because I'm fairly sure no 360 came with the Renault engine from the factory. Well of course there's the B17 Volvo redblock engine for African market 200-series, but that would be quite weird also..
Of course everything is possible, I've seen genuine 340 with a B200F engine..
Though Italian-market had the same weird taxing systems we had in the 80s, which taxed heavily 2l and above, so it might be possible.

For the italian market also existed a 2.0 version of the M3.
The car is buyed second hand in Trieste in 91', it was 5 years old, with the B17 80ps engine in it. I will scan the old instruction manual in italian.
Porn for you.
We got the 2.0 M3, the E30 was the only 4 pot M3 we got. Intresting if your car has a B17... in which case the 400 turbo isn't as easy. If it's a B172k, then the 400T lump will mate with the bellhousing and fit the existing engine mounts.
