Rising 340 Blue Line

I've been watching this one on eBay, and have to say I'm amused - price keeps going up daily by £50 but yet still no bids. Surely the price should go the other way to attract buyers! Or is this a reflection of the manner in which 300's are rising in value? Move your equity out of bricks 'n' mortar and into Volvos of old? Perhaps I should fix the sills on mine after all.....

How is he changing the listing?! I didn't think that was possible... learn something new everyday. Still in my ebay, at £250 I was tempted, not if he's doing that though.

You can change pretty much anything you want - especially the price. eBay are very happy for the price to rise! It is the first time I've ever seen anybody raise the price in the face of no bids. Perhaps there are a gazzilion watchers out there?

Up another 50 to £400 . . . . still no bids !
Something strange with this one - I emailed the seller asking about history etc., the first day it was posted - still awaiting a reply. Volvo have no service records.

lol , I have just sussed it ,

I bet we ALL have this in watching so the poor sod is guessing that there is a load of interest in it and we are all waiting for the last minute to bid.

so if he puts the starting price up he will get what he origionally wanted for it

I sent an email to the guy last night offering to make an offer (which I now don't need to do as my car is working again :D ), and his response was:

My experience of selling on EBAY is that it is full of Wallies! You have my mobile and are welcome to inspect this great car which I am happy to keep. ONLY if you are going to be realistic.
GDY

If anyone wants to get in touch, let me know & I'll pass the mobile number on.

He seems to be exactly the sort who's t*tsing ebay up for the rest of us, if he wants a high price thats what the reserve or high starting bid is for... then again that'd mean he'd pay a higher listing fee :(

Nice car, on current showings shame about the owner.

I wouldn't disagree - now that my car is not working properly again  I called his mobile earlier, and the answerphone message was hardly cheery... Anyway, I may have to brave the experience to have a look, as my other half's not stopped talking about Volvos since rust forced me to get rid of the last one & buy a BX. Will keep you posted.

Post by workshopmanualman » 20 Dec 2007 10:30 pm

Spotted this one - may be better than a blueline from a stroppy seller? Tad further away admittedly.
