Update:

The deals off as unfortunately Mo's excellent 340 was seriously damaged last night.

B****r!

Im now back to square one. I may have to buy a 340 first and then sell the 240. Problem is that I cant really have a gap between one going and the next one coming as I run as a sort of Volvo 'family care pool'! My GLT lives under a breathable cover and can only be used for me, my current 340 is my daily commuter and the third car (currently the 240) is for use by family members or as an emergency commuter car for me. This is why I want to replace the 240 with a 1.4 340 - cheaper tax and insurance mainly but also as its smaller and more versatile car (and I like them!)

He said that it was beyond economic repair - perhaps hes going to break it?

It is beyond economic repair, but sometimes it's economical to put a tank of fuel in a 300...

Having seen that car it would be a shame to break it up

Update on this thread

Ive located a 3dr 1.4 in near immaculate condition as far as bodywork goes - just needs a few mechanical jobs. I pick it up at the weekend. A guy on the VOC forum is set to buy my 240LPG next week all being well.

I will sort some photos out soon!

That's a thought that keeps pestering my head. I probably can't afford the initial cost, but it would pay for itself in 6 months. Brain hurt.

You would need to have it checked over before you start using it but its not as hard as many think. We have got the volvo's down time wise and can do a amazon, 140 240 740 or 300 in a day. Once you know exactly how to make ure brackets where to drill etc. That is why we can offer conversions at a good price without being shoddy.

DIY is an option but only if you are confident in your work
