How did that pass an MOT?
Brakes functioning within acceptable perameters? Yes.
Lights all functioning correctly? Yes.
Giant Eddie Murphy Head? Yes.
Well thats a pass then Sir.
No advisories.
Though your Giant Eddie Murphies head could have a slightly wider gap in its teeth.

What MOT? They don't surely have MOT like we do, only they do is SMOG test and even that seem to be different in different states, if you put 700hp V8 into 340 that is fine as long as it does pass SMOG test, well except California, there you would need to have original ride height and exhaust tip or you will get fined, V8 would still be ok

Well it's a trailer, and no MOT for trailers here
+ I doubt it's permanently attached

Final Score.
Re: Now I'm scared
Trailers need MOT here, if they are equipped with brakes that is, also all trailers need one MOT check before they are allowed to be used.
Re: Now I'm scared
Is there a smog test there for trailers as well

Here there are rules regarding the standards trailers must meet (lighting, brakes for trailers capable of carrying over a certain weight etc) but no tests.
So often we think how rubbish we have it here with bureaucracy and what not, so it's nice to sometimes remember how lucky we are in some ways.
But you do need to take a special driving test to pull a decent sized trailer (unless you took your car test over 12 years ago).

375kg+ iirc, any more than that and you need to take an extra test.

Re: Now I'm scared
I believe it's 750kg or a maximum rated capacity 2/3s the weight of the tow vehicle, whichever is higher.
In that case of my 240, for example, that was roughly 1000kg. The problem was that I thought it was the actual load...I imagine the trailer was rated to ~3 ton. It's utter bollocks, as large trailers are far easier to tow in my experience. The only problem is going down hills, either a) if you're an utter knob and fail to slow it down responsibly, or b) if it isn't balanced correctly. I know Andy and Pete had fun with a DAF 66 on a car trailer which was pushed too far back, and basically tried to lift the rear wheels of the car off the ground at 70mph...
cheers
