this is one of the bits i need to repair any advice anyone? i.e shape of patch and were to weld it to, never patched a car up before

Get some cornflake boxes, cut to about the size of the hole (slightly bigger). Keep cutting and get a nice fit and then draw round the stencil you've just made onto sheet steel. Cut out new pieces from sheet steel. Weld around the edges (provided there is no rust on metal, you can weld anything to anything). What you don't want to do is "plate over" the top, you want to fill the hole with new metal.

Remember to spot weld it in first and then colour in the edges with molten metal

can beat a bit of CAD cardboard aided design haha
