Not here...

They put the B230ET in the 700 series here, and that's it for turbo motors.
They put the B204FT (2.0 16v injection/catalyst turbo) in the 780 in Italy, and the B200FT found its way into the 940, but there was never a B200ET (2.0 injection (no cat) turbo).

What a shame, the B200ET is a good engine and would be perfect for a Volvo 360 R project...

Not least because you could use the computer and just bolt the manifolds on (if you monitor is carefully for pinging due to the higher compression ratio)!

Which cars was it fitted to then?

The 200 series too if I'm not wrong... But I have to check that...

We never had 200 series turbos here. In the states the 240 TI was a B21FT, then a B230FT. In the UK, the 740 turbo was a discrete model (ie: 740 GL, GLE, GLT, Turbo Intercooler - top of the range) - all 2.3.

Later, there was a 740 SE, which was a 2.0, which I believe was built to put it in some special catagory for fleet cars (ie: 2.0 or under). Just to add confusion, the 740 SE in the US is a special edition of the turbo intercooler with a rare bodykit, etc!

If you could get a 740 GL TI in Belgium, that would make sense.

Here you can see a french 740 Turbo intercooler from a friend... (with B200ET of course...)

That's the exact model we have here....badged as a 740TI but with a B230ET. Could you get a picture of the label on the front of the cambelt cover - that would settle this once and for all!

I've been owned! Apparantly it was a euro market thing. They also did a 1.7 redblock called a B17 for the 740, for the Swedish market(!) And I think the B200 is slow in a 360!

Ok now about the function of moderator... I think it's a good way to thank the top posters on this forum, for their involvment here... The task is not so difficult because there isn't so much to do (at this time), we have well educated members

If you read the FAQ, you will find this:

They have the power to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.

- Lock and unlock => unecessary here
- Delete => that occurred once (insulting vocabulary, the member is out)
- Move, edit & split => sometimes necessary
