Yes Aymat, can you remember I sent you an email for another
good front beam? I placed an ad on this forum.
Rust problem at the front beam has been fixed.
Could you add the pictures on the Volvo300Club forum?

Heh, if you used the aircon in Britain today, you'd probably have frozen to death.

Aircon in Finland is quite unneeded too. Winter -25 or even colder sometimes and at summer +30 is very very rare, mostly +25 when it is hot day.

So it is very rare equipment in here. Even they have started to put those in new cars now, but still it is luxury :)

I don't know quite what part of England you live in, but I've been cursing not having it almost every time I get in the car for the past few months - say may-september.

Both our other cars have it, and I'd say its essential. The other day I was driving down the M5 with both windows wide open, the blower on full-pelt, and I was still way too hot! I could have opened the sunroof too, but the extra drag is huge. Opening all your windows and the sunroof uses just as much extra fuel as running the aircon!

cheers

It's ok now

The aircon here is good for 2 or 3 weeks maximum and if you go in countries like Spain, Italy... during the holidays.

Well I guess that depends on how unnecessary you think it really is! I'd probably refuse to buy a car without it now. Yes it goes wrong from time to time (we've needed a £80 re-gas on the 940 once in 3-4 years - and that was just from not using it enough), but I think its pretty much essential if you're doing a lot of long journeys in the summer.

I drove 500 miles on motorways on Saturday, and it was a bloody misery because of the heat, and the extra noise from having the windows open and the fan going (blowing mainly warm air!). With AC you can put it on the lowest fan setting and over time it cools the car so you'd barely know its doing anything...until you get out into the oven-like heat.

cheers

James
