Yeah, especially that one, it has a 205hp 16V R-Sport engine. :P Naturally aspirated, revs well over 7000rpm. And that's all factory stuff.. Not your average Volvo by any means. Max power was achieved at 6900rpm.

That package didn't sell much though, it was very expensive and crappy stock gearbox gearings combined with crazy 4.88 diff gearing ruined the performance of the engine, it was infact slower than 240 Turbo..

With proper gearings that thing would've been quite a machine. :)

There's the first page of the article http://koti.mbnet.fi/mtn/images/autot/v ... 16V_s1.jpg

But not to take the topic completely off the track, I would say that your old wheel suits better with the more modern style dash you have. (Painted etc...) If it would be a black dash, I would definately choose R-Sport wheel. ;)

Hehe, that is a very tasty 240...

I don't think I could own one, it'd be like driving something older than the 300...and a stock 300 handles bardge like enough, and even the GLT isn't quick enough :(

I've voted for the original rim. It matches in better with rest fo the interior.

Go on Ronnie, the same wheels drive in 200 but you get sooooo much more car (which may not be a bonus), and maybe a 'little' less fuel economy ;)

Slower, heavier, use more fuel, don't handle as well, older design, more common etc etc.... guess I'm a 300 man

Still, if they'd sold the 242 in the UK... maybe... :D

Adam, looks like the people like bling!

Stuntman, you trying to get me over to the dark side? The 200 has some solid advantages, discs all round (needs them), heavy build, bigger engines, transmission easier to tune, IRS. Not so fast from a standstill but woldn't call it a slow car. I love the "sit up and beg" driving position too :)

Agreed, Steve - the 242 is a lovely looking motor. There's always the Bertone 262, but there's something a bit silly about it. I am leaning towards a 244.

James, you have PM

The only silly thing about a 262 is the V6.

If I were to have one first thing for me would be to drop in a 2.3 turbo :D

Wow Rupert that was not the reply I expected.
I was thinking more down the lines of the later engines are much better etc.

I would love a 262C but I just dont have room for another car.
BTW how much do you want for it?
